Monday's Challenge Report

I joined Loretta's challenge (see badge at bottom of the page), and have tried to do a minimum of 10 minutes of some form of exercise every day. So far, I am doing a good job of it! Today, I used hand weights to exercise the upper arms.

I decided to target that area. Flying squirrels have nothing on the flaps I'm developing up there. Wonder if I could glide? But I digress ...

So, I spend about 15 minutes doing several weight routines to try to develop some muscles in my upper arms. The more muscle I build, the more my metabolism should rev up.

Yesterday, I actually went swimming, trying to go a solid 10 minutes of aerobic activity. I managed to do it longer, but cardiovascularly, I am a wee bit out of shape. (And by wee bit, I mean enormously out of shape.) Is gliding considered exercise? i wonder ...

Tomorrow, I return to the Pilates Ring that I won from Kathy just before leaving on vacation. It may be small, but it is a workout. I am so glad I won it!

I'm right on track for my August-Only Challenge!

Tonight's dinner: whole wheat pasta w/marinara, fresh tomato and artichoke hearts, with a nectarine for dessert. (Water with dinner) Tonight's snack will be a light chocolate soy milk & banana smoothie (made with crushed ice).

  1. Good job on keeping up the challenge!!! I totally hear you on the arm flaps. LOL! But they are much better looking than butt lumps. Hahahaha

  3. Good for you Ann, I think it is great that you are exercising...I know how hard it is to get into that habit. Every day I try to do something that involves exercise...I do need to increase my walking..that is my goal...take care, keep going.

  5. Hmm, a chocolate soy milk & banana smoothie sounds delicious. If flying squirrels only knew what they were missing.

  6. Thanks for visiting me. Eating isn't the hard part for me anymore, it's the exercise! I struggle every day to do even the minimal exercise.
I come up the worst excuses. Today I do not want to do it because it's extra humid outside and I don't want to sweat because I already did my hair and makeup.

  7. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. Patrick - you are so funny! And "She..." I know exactly what you are saying. Exercise is just not my thing - but I need to make it so. I have used the humidity/sweat excuse too!! So, I didn't invent it after all ... hmmmmm. LOL I never seem to remember the humidity when it comes time to eat out though. Odd, how that works. All excuses aside, I am getting in some form of exercise each day (even if just 10 minutes). I will follow Cinner's lead in walking, but I will wait until this oppressive heat of summer has past - no excuses there. I just don't want to give myself heat stroke. Welcome to Ice Queen. I've actually been to Prescott. I remember it had a lovely town square ...
